  27.    As the exclusive copyright holder for this software, Rhode Island Soft         
  28.    Systems authorizes printed catalog, and electronic (BBS) on-line 
  29.    distribution only in accordance with the following restrictions.

  32.        o  The software package - including all related program               
  33.           files and documentation files - CANNOT be modified in any          
  34.           way (other than that mentioned in the following paragraph)         
  35.           and must be distributed as a complete package, without             
  36.           exception.

  38.        o  Many BBSs customarily add a small text file                        
  39.           (advertisement) to each archived file.  This text file             
  40.           describes the BBS and tells people that the file was               
  41.           downloaded from that particular BBS.  Other BBSs add a             
  42.           small one-line message with their BBS name and phone               
  43.           number into the compressed file, which will display when           
  44.           the file is uncompressed.  Either of these methods of              
  45.           mentioning your BBS are acceptable and may be used,                
  46.           provided the program and documentation is otherwise                
  47.           unmodified and complete.

  49.        o  Small additions to the package, such as the introductory
  50.           or installation batch files used by many shareware disk
  51.           vendors, are acceptable so long as they identify themselves
  52.           as being added by the distributor, and not part of the software.

  54.        o  No price or other compensation may be charged for the software
  55.           package.  A distribution fee may be charged for the cost of the
  56.           diskette, shipping, and handling, as long as the total (per disk)
  57.           does not exceed US$8.00 in the U.S. and Canada, or US$12.00
  58.           Internationally.

  60.        o  In order to maximize resources, Vendors often provide several 
  61.           different programs/packages on a single disk -- this is perfectly 
  62.           acceptable to Rhode Island Soft Systems, Inc.  We require that
  63.           the software files be bundled in such a way as to be presented 
  64.           as distinct and separate from those of other packages.  Archiving
  65.           is a suggested method of  accomplishing this goal.
  66.        
  67.        o  Rhode Island Soft Systems prohibits the distribution of            
  68.           outdated versions of the software package, without written         
  69.           permission from Rhode Island Soft Systems.  If the version         
  70.           you have obtained is over nine (9) months old, please            
  71.           contact us to ensure that you have the most current                
  72.           version. Please see the release date at the top of this file.

  74.        o  You may not list any of our products in advertisements, catalogs, 
  75.           or other literature which describes our products as "FREE SOFTWARE".
  76.           Shareware is "Try-Before-You-Buy" software, it is not free.

  78.        o  The software package CANNOT be sold as part of some other inclusive 
  79.           package.  Nor can it be included in any commercial software 
  80.           packaging offer, without a written agreement from Rhode Island 
  81.           Soft Systems.

  83.        o  Licensee shall not use, copy, rent, lease, sell, modify,           
  84.           decompile, disassemble, otherwise reverse engineer, or             
  85.           transfer the licensed program except as provided in this           
  86.           agreement.  Any such unauthorized use shall result in              
  87.           immediate and automatic termination of this license.

  89.        o  U.S. Government Information:  Use, duplication, or                 
  90.           disclosure by the U.S. Government of the computer software         
  91.           and documentation in this package shall be subject to the          
  92.           restricted rights applicable to commercial computer                
  93.           software as set forth in subdivision (b)(3)(ii) of the             
  94.           Rights in Technical Data and Computer Software clause at           
  95.           252.227-7013 (DFARS 52.227-7013).  The                             
  96.           Contractor/manufacturer is Rhode Island Soft Systems, Inc.
